A guide to finding and understanding care

Before and after a shot

# Get the handling details first.

The situation

You are considering a prescription, or a delivery has arrived. The label and the plan need to make sense before anything else happens.

Get the handling instructions and the way to reach the person treating you or the pharmacist in writing.

- Read the label

- Check handling instructions

- Know the help route

Ask about the details before treatment starts.

FDA is the federal drug agency: the Food and Drug Administration.

From the record

### Storage depends on the product

Peptide medicines have different storage needs; some need cold storage and others need room temperature, so follow the product label and pharmacy instructions.

Record checked in September 2026.

## A warm delivery calls for a check

If an injectable weight drug needs refrigeration, do not use it when it arrives warm or with too little cooling, according to FDA advice checked in September 2026.

Ask the pharmacy to review the delivery and explain the next step. Keep the packaging details with your message.

### Georgia's mail rules include a problem-reporting route

As of September 2026, pharmacies mailing medicines to Georgia must provide a way to report delivery problems and arrange prompt replacement of damaged deliveries.

## Do not work out an unclear amount from a website

Compounded medicine is prepared or mixed to suit a particular patient's need.

FDA has received reports of dose errors involving compounded semaglutide, including cases that needed hospital care.

Ask the pharmacist and prescriber to clear up any mismatch between the label and the written plan.

## Keep used needles contained

FDA says loose used needles belong in a sharps container, not household trash, recycling or a toilet.

A sharps container is a tough, puncture-resistant box designed for used needles.

### Severe symptoms need urgent help

With a severe allergic reaction, breathing can become difficult or the tongue or face may swell; severe symptoms require emergency care.

Record checked in September 2026.

## A report can help record a problem

Patients can report medicine problems through MedWatch, a free FDA service.
