A guide to finding and understanding care

In-person visits

# Put the visit before the injection.

The situation

You prefer to speak with someone in a room. A local offer lists injections, but tells you little about the visit itself.

Compare the assessment, the product and the follow-up as separate parts of care.

- Assessment

- Treatment discussion

- Follow-up plan

Ask what would happen at each part of the visit.

## Look for a discussion of your health

An in-person clinic, an existing medical practice or a specialist visit are care routes to ask about.

Bring a short list of goals and the medicines you take. Ask who makes the treatment decision.

From the record

### Choosing a shot from a menu is not a health review

In May 2026, the group representing state medical boards said a menu choice alone does not count as a proper health review. Patients must also have a chance to put their own questions to the person providing treatment.

This group gives guidance; Georgia's board enforces Georgia's rules. Ask who will discuss your health before any medicine is chosen.

Record checked in September 2026.

## Ask who is responsible for each part

Who assesses you? Who writes any prescription? Who gives the injection, if one is offered at the visit?

Get names rather than a general answer such as medical staff. Then match those names to the state records.

### Georgia's records identify doctors

The Georgia Composite Medical Board licenses doctors and reviews nurse prescribing agreements.

## Know what you leave with

Ask for a written account of the product discussed, the reason for it and the proposed follow-up.

Ask whether an injection at the visit is optional, how later visits are charged and whom to reach afterward.

## Compare visits on the same terms

- Ask what the assessment fee covers if no treatment is chosen.

- Request the product details before making a decision.

- Ask for the follow-up plan in writing.
